Purpose Built Communities Mourns the Loss of Founding Funder Julian Robertson

We are saddened to learn of the passing of Julian Robertson and extend heartfelt condolences to his colleagues, friends, and family, particularly his son Alex, who serves on our Board. As a founding funder of Purpose Built Communities, Mr. Robertson demonstrated a strong belief in our mission and vision of transforming neighborhoods. Thanks to his incredible generosity and heart for helping others, we were able to establish a solid foundation and grow over the years.

The Purpose Built team always looked forward to seeing Mr. Robertson at our events and conferences. He joined us for several Purpose Built Communities conferences over the years, offering encouragement and generating excitement throughout the Network. He was engaging, funny and kind to those who had the good fortune to interact with him.

The work we do across our Network is part of his legacy, and we are grateful. His wisdom, counsel, and philanthropic investments changed lives and continue to make a difference in communities across the world.

Purpose Built Communities will continue to honor Mr. Robertson’s legacy by working with leaders around the United States to ensure every neighborhood and the people who live there have the resources and opportunities they need to do well in our country.
