PBS Newshour Highlights Purpose Built Communities Model

On Saturday, May 9, PBS Newshour aired a story titled, “Can ‘neighborhoods of last resort’ be lifted out of poverty?” in which it highlights the Purpose Built Communities model of comprehensive revitalization. Specifically, it tells the story of the transformation of East Lake Meadows into the thriving neighborhood it is today, with high-quality mixed income housing, an excellent cradle-to-college education pipeline anchored by Drew Charter School, and fully integrated community wellness programs and services.
