One of the things we have been doing is convening our network members once a week on a video call to check in on the health of our neighborhoods and learn from each other. Finding support across the country for the vital work of leading efforts to provide immediate support and lasting connections in neighborhoods has been a boost for those advocates, both in terms of the sharing of knowledge and the emotional support that comes with a community. Community-based organizations are one of the most trusted sources of support and information at this time.

We will continue to share resources, information and lessons learned from this crisis with each other so we can emerge stronger with stronger bonds to each other and an increased commitment to collaboration.

Our team at Purpose Built Communities is thinking of everyone who is suffering right now and thankful to all of those who are putting their lives on the line to get us through this crisis – from the health care professionals, first responders, essential workers in grocery stores, people who deliver food, agriculture workers, and those who are showing up every day to keep other essential industries functioning. Thank you for your service and your leadership.
