Atlanta, GA, March 5, 2024 – Purpose Built Communities is pleased to announce Damon Bailey as a new Vice President of Network Member Success. A skilled nonprofit executive with over fifteen years working in disenfranchised communities across the South, Damon brings a wealth of experience and dedication to his new role supporting network members across the country.

Damon began his career in 2009 as a middle grades teacher in Southwest Atlanta through Teach For America. His most recent role was serving as the Executive Director for Teach For America Alabama, where he played a pivotal role in developing and managing strategies to improve educational outcomes for children statewide.

During his tenure as Executive Director, Damon achieved notable milestones, including overseeing the recruitment and training of nearly 300 new and seasoned teachers. He successfully raised over 8 million dollars — including an increased Alabama state legislative appropriation — and executed one of the largest state education conferences with 400 attendees.

Damon is a passionate advocate for justice in marginalized communities. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Hampton University in 2009, and since then, he has remained committed to pursuing positive change and equity.
